Periamma is an International charity with organizations established in Denmark, India, Kenya and United States. We support children, families, and communities in Kenya, India, and Thailand.
Our purpose is to empower children, women and communities in need, to live an educated, autonomous and prosperous life.
Our organization mainly consists of professionals with corporate and entrepreneurial backgrounds, who voluntarily dedicate time and resources to make a difference for approximately 4-5,000 children and their communities.
We believe that everyone has a voice, and always give space and opportunity to a sponsor, a child, an intern or a volunteer to impact and influence the projects we develop and deliver in our 3 countries.
We collaborate and co-create with local partners to ensure that we can implement fast and design solutions that are impactful and sustainable for the children and their communities.

How we work
It is about more than just giving
Total Honesty
We make sure your money goes where it is intended. At least 80% of every krone is spent directly on the ground. Most of our team are professionals and business owners who volunteer their own time to help, which keeps our costs low and our focus sharp.
Working Together
We never walk in and tell people what to do. The people living there know what they need better than anyone else. We sit down with local partners and build projects together so that the community owns the results from day one.
Getting It Right
We treat our work with the same care you would a business. We look at the facts and check our numbers. If something is working we do more of it. If it is not we change it.
Our focus areas
Where we make a difference
1. Education
Education is where we invest most of our time. We truly believe that educating children and women is the foundational pillar in developing societies - giving individuals and families the opportunity to live better, more prosperous lives. Since 2011 we have impacted more than 5,000 school children across India, Kenya, Thailand and Uganda.
2. Sustainability
We invest in projects that give communities the resources to sustain themselves. This includes access to clean drinking water and farming the land around our schools, so children can bring vegetables and food home to their families. Sustainability is not a project - it is a practice we embed in everything we do.
3. Entrepreneurship
Developing entrepreneurial skills is essential for children, families and communities to become self-sustaining. We provide microfinance loans supporting women-led businesses in India - food, clothing and jewellery - and have helped create female taxi drivers in Chennai, opening new economic pathways for women in one of India's most dynamic cities.
4. Partnerships
Through corporate partnerships we build meaningful connections across borders - between corporations wanting to invest more purposefully and local communities in need. Our projects are always done in collaboration with local partners to ensure we build lasting capacity. One example is Able Catering in Denmark, whose support directly funds Able School in Gingee, India.
